Ms. Ritma Aftab is an associate attorney at Hedman Family Law, LLC. She focuses her law practice on dissolutions of marriage, child custody disputes, child support, unmarried persons' rights, modifications, and other various family law issues. Her passion is helping families achieve stability, and she has compassion for those involved in custody disputes and divorces.
In 2022, Ritma began working with Hedman Family Law, LLC. While attending law school and for more than two years, has worked closely with Managing Attorney Natalie Hedman, assisting with cases and attending various court appearances and mediations.
Ritma graduated from Texas A&M with a bachelor's in Parks and Recreation and a certificate in Parks and Conservation. After completing her undergraduate studies, Ritma interned for the House of Representatives in Washington, D.C., and realized she wanted to go to law school to learn to help others navigate the legal system. In 2023, Ritma graduated from Lewis & Clark Law School with an Environmental and Natural Resource Law certificate. While clerking with Hedman Family Law, LLC, Ritma discovered a passion for seeing the positive impact she could make for families using an empathetic yet level-headed approach. Ritma understands the emotions involved in family law and has a passion for helping her clients reach resolutions without giving up their rights
Rita grew up in Dallas, Texas, but has fallen in love with beautiful Oregon. She enjoys hiking, spending time with her friends, or relaxing with a good book in her free time.
